SUMMEET International Summer Dance Festival in Armenia

The most important mission of the festival is the development and popularization of modern dance in Armenia. The significance of this young sphere of art is not yet so large in the cultural palette of our country.

However, in spite of everything, in recent years, development trends have become visible and it is important at the initial stage to lay the fundamental foundations for its qualitative growth. The contemporary dance festival will become one of such foundations, it will be an important step towards the emergence of authentic and high-quality contemporary dance projects and the assertion of its important role in the cultural life of Armenia.

The SUMMEET festival program includes performances of modern dance, physical and visual theatre, performances in traditional theaters, as well as in non-standard spaces of the urban landscape and in museums. Amateurs and professionals are waiting for master classes, creative meetings, round tables, concert performances by Russian and European companies, events on the open stage and in museum spaces. All this will be another important step towards the recognition of modern dance and the assertion of its role in the cultural life of Armenia.

This year's festival will become a unique platform for dialogue between the Armenian and international professional community, demonstrating the state and development of contemporary dance in Armenia.
